Back in "The Eug"

(I don't know - that's what the kids call Eugene these days.) Anyhoo... the Magna Peregrinus is out of her cage and in Eugene, Oregon for the first football game of the year - University of Oregon Ducks v University of New Mexico Lobos.

Saucy

The RV is ready for the season-opener tailgate at Autzen Stadium (University of Oregon v New Mexico) and I turn ten tomatoes into two cups of sauce for pasta.

Odds & Ends

Cleaning up a few things on my desk... brunch at Cafe Murrayhill... a cake with faces... and other randomness from my life.

Buttermilk Blueberry Coffee Cake

I came up with this unconventional recipe while we were in the RV. I threw it together, using a wire whisk. I made it again a few times in the motorhome and then at home - using the same method - and it just works. Easy, not too many dishes to wash, not too sweet and really delicious.

We are Home

Twenty-three days and 2000 miles later... we are home from our Provo blind delivery. Another great trip on the road! We unpack the Magna Peregrinus and discover a new Mexican Restaurant has opened practically around the corner.

One More Night...

As we inch closer to home, we spend the day enjoying some of Oregon's best, as in the narrowest bridge and one of the best restaurants in the state - Celilo in Hood River.

Deschutes River State Park

A cockpit tour and then, we continue west along the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, stopping to spend the night where the Deschutes River joins the Columbia. Beautiful campsite and perfect spot to enjoy a grilled steak dinner.

Golf, Sushi & Deep-Fried Cheese Curds

A round of golf at Buffalo Peak in Union, Oregon - then drinks & sushi at Foley Station in La Grande... topped off with deep-fried cheese curds at the funky Nell's-N-Out drive-through. (5 photos)

We continue on to Union, Oregon where we tour through two historic hotels as we explore the pretty town.

A baby is born, a birth is recalled and we drive through the open range in Nevada and Idaho to Oregon.

Blind Delivery

A beautiful drive over the Wasatch Mountains brings us to Provo, where we finally deliver the window coverings to Chris.

Three States

On our way to Park City, Utah, we drove to Idaho, then back into Wyoming, into Utah, back into Wyoming and finally into Utah. Confused much?

National Museum of Wildlife Art

Sore from our 2400 ft. ascent yesterday, we take in a little culture at the National Museum of Wildlife Art... after having Chicken & Waffles at Cafe Genevieve, of course!
