A favorite park. Not too many sites for Big Rigs (sites near

really close to Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes Golf Course.

Whaleshead Beach Resort

Whaleshead Beach Resort is just north of
Brookings. It is mostly a park for
live-ins and park models. Sites may be
purchased. It is not on the beach, but
on the other side of Highway 101. You
can walk to the beach via a very scary
700-foot-long dark tunnel (bring a
flashlight). However, once you make the
trek, the beach is very pretty with huge
rocks just off-shore. There are nicer
campgrounds in town. They have a
restaurant, a small shop, full-hook-up
sites, cable TV, restrooms and laundry.
Beachfront RV Park
GPS:
42.04439N/124.2678W
This RV park is nothing more than a
gravel parking lot with full (30 amp)
hookups, but it is right on the beach
next to the jetty, and minutes from
town. Operated by the port. Pull-through
and back-in sites available, bath house,
laundry, picnic table, good water
pressure and great cell service. If it
is foggy, the fog horn will be your
constant companion... all night long.
The RV park is right on the beach, so
you will hear waves crashing too (this
is either a good or a bad thing,
depending upon your preferences).

RV Resort at Cannon Beach
Very nice park. You can walk to town, or ride your bike.
Full hook-up paved sites, cell service, pet friendly, indoor
pool and hot tub, newspaper box and small store. Sites
1-4 are best if you want to get your satellite TV, but they
have cable. Cannon Beach has many restaurants, shops and
galleries. The most famous feature is Haystack Rock, which
sits just off shore and is accessible for tide-pool
exploring during a very low tide. Puffin's nest on Haystack

Seven Feathers expanded! They have built a first-class
191-site RV Resort across the freeway from their popular
casino. The campground is at Exit 99 on I-5, but is away
from the freeway noise. Facilities include: an indoor pool,
spa, fitness center, tiled laundry, private shower rooms,
BBQ/group area, meeting room with full kitchen, paved and
lighted walking paths along Jordan Creek, horseshoe pits, great grassy dog walk
areas, a playground and
- of course - a shuttle that will take you over to the
casino every 20 minutes. Escorts help guide you into
your concrete site. Each site has 20/30/50 amp, water and
sewer, cable television, free wifi, a little lawn, plantings
and a round picnic table. Everything is very tasteful. Seven
Feathers RV Resort would be a great rally park! The
concierge service can arrange golf packages at
Myrtle Creek Golf Club, winery tours and help with other
area tourism information. Seven Feathers offers
discounts to military, AAA, Good Sam, FMCA, Escapees - plus an additional 10%
off if
you have a Club Card from their casino!

is served in the casino, but it is available in the
restaurants. The casino has a very nice shop with local
Native American craft and food gifts. Also on the property
is the
Seven Feathers Truck & Travel Center - a full service
truck stop gone fancy - everything you could need for your
rig and a nice coffee shop. There are several restaurants in
the very small town of Canyonville and a small grocery.

If you are driving east/west of Portland on I-84,
there is a fabulous stop at

the freeway, so drive/park carefully. There is space for 5
or 6 RVs. (If you are a Big Rig or towing a
trailer/5th-wheel DO NOT drive the scenic by-way in this
area.) You can spend several hours here (hike to the top of
the falls) or just spend ten minutes to snap a photo of the
gorgeous waterfall. Restaurant, snacks, toilets, gift shop.
This waterfall is one of the most beautiful in the country,
the second-highest in the country (Yosemite Falls is the
highest). Best in the spring or winter, but always
beautiful... but, as an Oregonian, my opinion is tainted.

The Mill Casino RV Park
The Coquille Tribe has added a huge RV park at their
casino on Highway 101 (trust me, you can't miss it). Bay

internet, pet walking area, full hookups, showers, laundry.
Shuttle circles the RV park to take you up to the casino
(which no longer has bingo, by the way) and they also offer
a free shuttle to Bandon Dunes Golf Course for registered
guests. The tribe also allows RVs to park free in their
parking lot overnight and don't mind if you "camp" free, but
ask that you do register in the RV park office - the
RV park office then has security drive by and check things
for you as a courtesy. Pronounced:

Your only option in the park if you are camping in a RV in
Crater Lake National Park. Mazama is a
beautiful campground at the south entrance to the park. No hook-ups (though
there are now a choice few electric sites). Some sites can hold up to a 50'
RV (okay, that is what it says on the website, but I have never seen/heard
of a 50' RV. We camped here in a 40' motorhome - with slide rooms -
and stayed in #A3 with no difficulties.) Sites are (dusty) dirt with nice
fire pits and picnic tables. Treed sites, but with enough openings it is
probably possible to find your TV satellite. Flush toilets and pay showers,
ranger programs/hikes and a very nice amphitheater, firewood, store,
restaurant and fuel (seasonal). This campground is operated by Xanterra
Parks & Resorts and it is easy to book a site through their website.

The park is now under new ownership and has made huge
improvements. It is still right off I-5, which makes
it very convenient (exit 199) and a little noisy, which is
the only reason I don't give it a higher rating. Sites
are full-hook-up long paved pull-throughs, 50 & 30 amp,
cable, paper delivered to your door, pet area, pool, good
cell service and the staff are really friendly. They offer
free wi-fi. RVers will be happy to know it is just across

Harry & David have a large parking lot, but long rigs (and

across the street. Fred Meyer is a one-stop shopping mecca -
you can pick up a gallon of milk, a hammer and a new pair of

Another great Oregon State Park. Old-fashioned campground

Quite a hike to the beach - 1/3 to 1/2 mile - but what a
great beach! Nature trails, recycling center, ranger talks,
campground hosts, firewood for sale, plus a small store
selling ice, etc. 228 electrical sites. Many have water.
