This and That - and Cauliflower
Indio, California: Enough of this food
poisoning excuse for lazing around... I am back to normal-ish. I worked-out and
had a glass of wine. These two things are a good sign that I am on-point.

My pretty cousin, Lori, shared this photo with me today. It
reminded me that my super-slow shuffling is worth SOMETHING. I also had a
manicure and when returning to our RV resort there was great excitement - the
traffic light to enter/exit the Motorcoach Country Club was finally operating!

WOOT! The things that thrill me are frightenly scary, wouldn't you agree?

There was a spectacular sunset this evening... but I discovered the beauty
too late. This blurry - yet still pretty - photo
will have to do.
We watched the State of the Union speech tonight - our responsibility as
citizens and tax payers of this Great Nation. After the speech, I served My
Driver a vegan dinner from the January 2012 Bon Appetit Magazine -
Cauliflower Steaks with Olive Relish and Tomato Sauce. Because I have a
teeny oven, I had to make the tomato sauce separately (and before) the
cauliflower "steaks" were roasted... but it all worked out well and the dish
was quite delicious.

DT (who also loves beef steak) really liked this delicious,
low-cost and healthy dinner.
Tonight, I will share a funny teaser (via my sister, Renee) from
International Film Channel hit show
Portlandia.
Though the program is a parody on the Portland, Oregon lifestyle... sometimes, it
hits very true to home.
Speaking of Portland... with all the snow, rain and
subsequent flooding our home town has experienced, Reader Barbara sent this
photo of the hottest Portland footwear:

Due to the shoe color, I am positively positive this version is for the
folks in Corvallis.
Until my next update, I remain, your American correspondent.
