Day of Rest
Indio, California: We again woke to
another sunny day. Rinse and repeat.

Are y'all getting tired of this vista?

Maybe it looks better in black & white?
I just love Saturday. I take my rest day and do not run... which makes it my
very favorite day of the week. I take it easy. I do not work. I eat fried
potatoes.
This afternoon Lisa sent us out on wedding reconnaissance errands. Fun! Then
My Driver took me all the way to Thermal (nearly to Mecca) to buy 12 ounces
of dates.

I
can buy dates in any grocery store in the Coachella Valley. I can buy dates
around the corner at
Shields Dates.
But no, I prefer dates from
Oasis Date Gardens.
I am going to try a date bar recipe next week and only want the best dates.
I am using organic flour, organic sugar, organic butter, organic eggs, organic
walnuts, etc., in the recipe - so why muck it up with supermarket dates?
Oasis Date Gardens has organic dates! I am making the date bars for Lisa...
and anything Lisa eats, Little Leo gets eventually. It's a no-brainer.
After
our errands, My Driver took me to a local grocery that had one of my
favorite adult beverages on sooper-dooper sale. I'm telling you, if he isn't
getting some-sort of award today for (again) being the Best Husband Ever.
In other electrifying news... huge excitement around the old trailer park
this week as the City of Indio is installing traffic lights at the
entrance/exit to the Motorcoach Country Club! It is a bit dangerous at times
to make a left turn out of the resort as the speed limit on most roads in
this area is a ridiculous 50 mph. Maybe in the car, it isn't so bad... but
imagine if you are driving a 45-foot bus and towing a car? Danger.

WOOT! The traffic lights are up - along with new street lamps - but the stop
lights are not working as yet. Hopefully soon. It is going to make my life
easier and safer. Not to mention all those people I probably scare
half-to-death when I make a left turn into traffic.
Turn about is fair play. Readers Jamee and David took us to dinner the other
night, so it was only right we return the favor. Tonight they were our
guests at the fancy-schmantzy restaurant in the resort club house - Top of
the Falls. Jamee and David are truly lovely people. We have so much in
common, it's scary. If they didn't wear Orange & Black all the time, I would
adopt them. We were the last customers in the restaurant tonight. Another
great evening with fellow RVers.
Until my next update, I remain, your resting correspondent.
