Sunday with Leo
Los Angeles, California: You know it is going to be a good day
when the only thing on your agenda is hanging out with Leo and dinner with
friends in the evening... plus, I am not sure how large our hotel could possibly
be, but tonight this hotel is housing the entire Wisconsin football team and two
massive marching bands from Indiana. (I have recently learned high school
marching bands in Indiana are as important as high school football in Texas.)
I thought about running up and down the halls - screaming - all night to
distract the Wisconsin players, but DT says they have BIG GUYS stationed on each
floor to prevent this sort of shenanagins.
Sorry, Chip, you are on your own tomorrow.
Dave and I spent the day at Lisa & Lenny's. Several chores were checked-off
their never-ending to-do list, we had black eyed peas for good luck, and Lisa
put together the Baby Einstein Leo received from his Godfather. The Baby
Einstein is perfect for infants 5 months old and Baby Leo will be 5 months old
tomorrow.
It is amazing that a squirming helpless infant can change into an interactive
person in such a short span of time. And it always works this way. I (just as
you) was smiling, babbling and trying to sit-up at 5 months. Lisa did this
too... I just can't remember.

This Baby
Einstein thingy was a bit of an over stimulation for Leo. So much going
on! Bells. Whistles. Bobble-heads. Songs. Puppets. Leo was so intent on each
item. Mesmerized. Finally, someone pointed his little head to the Redskins
game on television and Leo promptly fell asleep.
Next year!

Leo's footwork on the Baby Einstein was remarkable.

Leo loves his Baby Einstein. Of course.

I am sorry to say I did order the horrid Oregon Duck hideously-dyed roses
offered by FTD. Certainly there is a special place in hell for the person
who devised this unnatural blending of green and yellow roses. Certainly
there is a special place in hell for the person pocketing the unholy amount
of money FTD earned by selling this unnatural blend of roses. At least we
get to keep the "O" vase. I am pretty sure the roses will never open.
Thankfully FTD has a money-back guarantee because I want my money back.

These roses look nothing like the website promised photo.

Just saying.

Tonight, Leo met his "Aunt" Cory for the first time! Steve and Mary's
youngest - fresh from her graduation from UNLV - is here for the Rose Bowl.
Most of our usual Autzen tailgate crew gathered at Lisa & Lenny's tonight for cocktails and then went to a
local Italian restaurant for dinner.

Leo is so blessed to have so many people to love him! Congratulations, Cory,
on your graduation!
Tomorrow the Ducks play the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl. It is on
national television at 2p pacific. Be there. Wear something green or yellow.
Please.
Until my next update, I remain, your GO DUCKS correspondent.
