Park City Golf Course
Park City, Utah: Yes, we are still in charming Park City, Utah.
Such a lovely spot in Our Great Country. I encourage you all to get in your RV's
(or cars if absolutely necessary) and visit Park City!
We had a late-morning tee time, so I was able to try an interesting-looking
recipe for Sweet Corn Pancakes posted the other day at
Smitten Kitchen.

I have posted the
recipe and my comments here. We loved the pancakes and hope you will
give them a try. Easy too.
With all those lovely carbs in our bellies - we headed out for 18 holes
at Park City Golf
Course. We were paired with two locals, David & Bob. We feel lucky
when paired with locals - they know the course and are always good
sources for restaurant recommendations.

Today, Park City Golf Course was featuring a "Ball Fitting" clinic. You
can just imagine the jokes I heard today. "Oh, if I just wasn't a
lady".

Park City Golf Course is the municipal course and the only public course
in the area. The links were in fabulous shape today and extremely
challenging. The scenery was breath-taking (pun intended as the course
sits as 7000 ft. elevation; we used a golf cart) with seemingly endless
views of resorts with adjacent ski lifts/runs.

This resort sits on the Park City Golf Course. You can take the little
lift behind your room to connect to several different ski runs.
And by "you", I mean "you". Not me. I don't do snow.

Here, my driver uses his driver on the 16th hole. How
often do you get to golf below a ski slope with a bobsled/luge run? (The
white trail down the hill is the bobsled/luge run.) The course didn't
conquer this girl. Oh, no. I shot my usual 120-something! Yeah, me!
This evening we had reservations for dinner at
Easy Street at the Sky Lodge in downtown Park City. We were seated
right away and the restaurant was very pretty, with white linens and
modern decor. (Too dark for photos.)
DT had Buffalo Carpaccio for his appetizer. Yes, Dear Reader, raw
buffalo... in this instance, sliced very (very, very, very) thin. Served
with the traditional accompaniments - arugula, lemon and pecorino - his
appetizer was delicious (I tasted it too). I ordered a spinach salad
with house-smoked salmon (without the slab bacon). My salad also
included caramelized pears and feta. Again, delicious. Of course, I
ordered Steak Frites (the filet Mignon version with Bearnaise) and DT
ordered the very unkosher Lobster Mac & Cheese. We could not begin to
finish our meals. So much food. Dang, and it was so delicious too.
Did we enjoy Easy Street? Yes. And no. The food was very good, but we
felt a bit rushed. The waitress asked for our entree orders before
offering us a cocktail or wine. (Yes, yes, I know we are in
Utah, but this restaurant has a very lively bar.) The joint was barely
half-full - what was the rush? Then, after being so rushed, I watched my
steak frites sitting under the heat lamp a full fifteen minutes before
it was delivered to me. (The steak was still, unexplainably, "medium".)
Am I over picky? Yes. Don't get me started about the two dudes next to
us in cargo shorts and tee shirts. Either way, we would return to Easy
Street because the food was really good.
Until my next update, I remain, your picky correspondent.
