Here We Are
Indio, California: We were so sad to leave idyllic Borrego
Springs this morning - to drive just over sixty miles to idyllic Palm Springs.
Life is stressful at times. Having to move from one perfect desert oasis to
another. I make this sacrifice so you will have something to read with your
morning coffee.
You can thank me later.
The drive to the Palm Springs area is, of course, gorgeous. Even when the desert
is not in full-on bloom the drive is fabulous - but today we had several
jaw-dropping vistas. The ocotillo is brilliant east of Borrego Springs.

The road passes through the
Badlands (nice video)
area and then drops down to the Coachella Valley with fabulous views to
the Salton Sea (the largest lake in California).

So pretty.
And so salty.
And so we arrived to our "campsite" in the
Motorcoach Country Club. We are renting from the same guy we have rented from before. The campsite
is fully-loaded with every amenity and has fabulous views over the golf course
to the mountains, but does have full-on sun all afternoon directly into the
front of our bus.
Apparently, paradise comes with a few compromises.
Luckily our bus comes with three roof-top air conditioners.

Here is our home for at least the next two
weeks. We get a bar table with four chairs
thrown-in! Woo Hoo!
You may (or may not) notice that we have only one
satellite dish deployed on the roof of our bus. Our
High-Definition DirecTV box that moves our rooftop dish needs a
software update. I (Geek Girl Supreme) do not know
how to complete this task. A tech will arrive in the
morning and update our software and hopefully show
me how to do it myself... as I understand DirecTV
has decided to upgrade their software one or two
times per year.
I am only one woman. Expect a boring report about
this upgrade tomorrow. Apple pie is involved.
Back to our current situation...

Our golf course view isn't bad.

We also have a view to this lovely
waterfall and huge pond. Many shore birds - very
relaxing and tranquil. If you are into relaxing and
tranquility.
Which we are, of course.

This is our street in our new 'hood.
With all the hardware in this resort, the Magna
Peregrinus is basically trailer trash.

We fight on and hold our heads
high.

Look at all the lawn. Can you think
of anyone who would enjoy all this green-space?
I can.

Yep. You guessed right. The Greatest
Grand Dawg EVER - Reese. I just can't wait to spoil
him for four days next week.
After settling in, we headed out to restock our fridge. You all
know I love Borrego Springs, but the wine selection is a bit lacking in the
middle of nowhere. Not only were we able to find a few of our favorite bottles
in Indio,
we also saw something quite shocking:

It's not like I don't get out much.
Since when have they offered flavored ice cubes in
the supermarket freezer section? Is this for people
who are too lazy to slice a lime, lemon or orange to
squeeze into their cocktail?
Shivers Ice Company to the rescue!
Do you all have this in your freezer right now and
have been holding out on me?
Until my next shocking update, I remain, your
lemon-squeezing correspondent.
