Catching up & Happy New Year
Indio, California:
Happy New Year! I wanted to catch-up here... it has been a crazy
few days. DT drove over to San Diego (in the Honda) to meet friends to watch
our University of Oregon Ducks beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the
Holiday Bowl. (I remained in Indio - we still have charge of our Grand Dawg,
Reese, for a few more days.) A digital SLR man, I sent my husband to San
Diego with my pocket-sized point and shoot digital. Here are a few photos of
the game you may/may not enjoy:

The Oregon Marching Band performed before the game

Local military unfurled a football-field-sized flag

The star-spangled banner

Lots of Ducks flocked south for the Holiday Bowl

Half-time fireworks show

DT snapped several really good fireworks photos

Ohhhhh, Ahhhhhh

Okay, this is the last one
He also took this photo from west of the Coachella Valley,
when he returned the next morning:

DT arrived back in Indio just after noon. I went through all
the photos he snapped while in San Diego and we were watching the Beavers
beat Pitt in the Sun Bowl when part of the ceiling dropped with a tremendous
crash to the floor!

Ouch! Reese was sleeping in the other room - thankfully! The racket woke him
up.
The panel has a bit of a smashed corner, but it did not break the tile.

The panel hides the air conditioner/ducting. Seems one of the brackets
holding the panel in place had never been screwed on! It was being held in
place by the temporary sticky tape used to align the brackets during
construction. Lucky someone wasn't hurt!

DT fixed it hisownself! It is so nice to have My Handyman home!
Would this be a good time to note that the
Eugene Register-Guard had a story today about how Country Coach will close
in February unless they obtain financing?
We enjoyed our traditional New Year dinner -
Fettuccini Alfredo and a bottle of Clicquot. Same unhealthy meal every
year. Testing fate or celebrating that we are here to enjoy another year?
Life is good in the trailer park. (Click the link for my personal
recipe. It only uses one pan and a colander. Lipitor not included.)

Yummers
And so, for my final post of 2008, DT and I (and Reese!)
wish you all a very Happy New Year and may 2009 be filled with fun, good
health, love, travel and great food with family, friends... and jobs, jobs,
jobs!
Peace and Happy New Year!

Here we go again
Until my next update, in a different year, I remain, your
Happy New Year correspondent.
