Heading south
Hesperia, California: Where, exactly, you
may ask, is Hesperia? Hesperia is a small town along Highway 365, about two
hours north of Palm Springs.
We didn't leave Merced until 10:30 this morning. The fog wasn't as heavy
today and it was safe to drive. I asked DT to keep driving until he brought
me out of the fog - and he did. Our first plan was to stop in Bakersfield at
the Orange Grove RV Park, so we could pick a few oranges... but the fog was
even worse in Bakersfield. So, My Driver took a left and headed east on
Highway 58. This route climbs over the Tehachapi Pass, and before we reached
the top of the pass - the skies were clear, the sun was shining, so we
started looking for a place to stop for the night.
Which finds us in Hesperia at a fine campground where DT can rest-up from
his 300-mile drive before continuing to Palm Springs tomorrow.
The only exciting news - besides that our RV handled very smoothly and it
was an enjoyable drive - was the coaching change announced today at the
University of Oregon. The football coach will become the Athletic Director
and the Offensive Coordinator will become the football coach. However, the
University, in their usual strangeness, did not announce a time-frame for
the switcheroo, so everyone is speculating... which is just a waste of
effort.
We have been eating too much this week (and so much meat) in Merced, so I
prepared an organic vegetarian pasta dish for hubby tonight, along with a
refreshing salad. College basketball is on the television. Needlepointing
will occur.

Fresh fettuccini tossed with basil, garlic and parmesan
Sorry for such a boring post, but today was a travel day. We
are just happy to be in a comfortable campsite for the night and happy we
enjoyed another safe day of travel in the most beautiful motorcoach in the
world. I will post a few photos of the RV park tomorrow (when it is day
light!).
Added later: Here are the promised photos:

Reception

Seasonal pool; spa is indoors and open year-round

The pull-through area - long enough that we didn't have to un-hook our tow
car
