Evening in Paris
Indio, California: Our
Grand Dawg duties continue! We think the Little Guy is doing
well with us and is enjoying all his walks. Hopefully, we
are not walking him too much after his ACL surgeries. Reese
limps a bit after about thirty minutes, so we head home. He
sleeps... and we repeat after a while. Reese enjoys meeting
all the other dogs in the RV resort - though many are HUGE
dogs. Reese takes after our Old Beagle, Snickers, in that he
is a very friendly dog.
Reese does NOT take after Snickers in the food department
however. Though Reese is a mutt, we can say for sure he has no hound blood. Food
simply does not interest Reese. He eats if he is hungry... and then, not so
much. Strangest thing to adjust to after living with a food-obsessed beagle
for 15 years.
While on a walk this morning, I snapped photos of some of the gorgeous
flower beds in this RV park:

So pretty

Don't you just love December flowers?
Luckily, Reese has stopped sniffing only our lamp (see
yesterday's post) and is now sometimes also sniffing the lock on the window!

Metal-sniffing dog - do you think Homeland Security would be interesting in
his services?

After all that walking and all that sniffing, Reese took a nap on DT's
pillow
Somehow tonight was already the last night of Hanukkah! We
had a very enjoyable and fun-filled holiday.

Eighth night

Jews are commanded to light the Hanukkah candles and display the
light to the neighborhood - no matter where your home is parked
If you were at our motorhome tonight, you
may have been confused and thought you were in Paris. We
cooked together and prepared perfect steak frites! DT
grilled organic, free-range, grass-fed New York strip steaks
(brought frozen/vacuum-sealed from home) and I whipped-up
pomme frite (some people call them French fries),
seasoned greens and an herb butter for the steak. The only
thing missing was a bottle of Bordeaux... but DT opened an
Italian Chianti (duh).

Perfection on a plate
The meal was over-the-top delicious and was a perfect ending
to a wonderful holiday. From our RV to yours, we hope you also celebrated a
Happy Hanukkah!
Until my next update from sunny Indio, I remain, your well-fed
correspondent.
