Rainy day
Indio, California: As our housesitter,
Brandon, said this morning via a phone call from our snowed-in home in
Oregon... "all the sunny photos you posted yesterday kinda jumped up and bit
you on the butt, didn't they?" It certainly did, Brandon. We woke to dark,
grey skies and it has been raining for hours.
Mind you, they love rain here, as so little falls in the area and the desert
is so desperate for the moisture. Great for the locals; we tourists are not
so pleased.

Yuck
No golfing today.
We needed to go to the post office. We are in the middle of the busy holiday
shipping season, and never miss a shipment of our Camping Journal RV Log
Book. I am anxious that every order - gift or not - is shipped as quickly as
possible. As long as we were out, we drove over to Palm Desert to
Sherman's Deli
for a traditional Jewish delicatessen luncheon.

Sherman's in Palm Desert.

DT has his usual - pastrami and Swiss on rye

Terry had her usual - Beef n' Latkes. Potato pancakes instead of bread, with
pastrami
It is ridiculous the amount of food served here. I couldn't
even eat half of my "sandwich" - same with DT - so we have lunch tomorrow
too!
No big meal for us tonight after that huge lunch. I made a salad of garden
tomatoes, avocado slices and orange segments... drizzled with that fabulous
Napa olive oil, and a few slices of baguette. Delish and easy!

Our dinner
This weather is supposed to continue for a few days. Instead
of golfing, I will be needlepointing. Until my next update, I remain, your
soggy correspondent.
