Lazy Day
Borrego Springs, California: We had great
plans for our day, but it was so windy this morning we just stayed in
(hunkered down), thinking we could golf in the afternoon. Not. We ran a few
errands, shipped books and finally decided to not golf at all. It was good
to have a day to relax - we have been going on over-drive for two weeks.

Borrego Springs is a teeny little village. Here is the supermarket.
Just the basics, but we found everything on our list (beer, milk, dinner
napkins).
If you are interested... I snapped quite a few photos of the
RV resort. When we stayed here two years ago, everything was shiny and new.
Now, it actually looks better. Perfectly maintained, fully-staffed and the
landscape has grown quite a bit.

The Clubhouse: fitness center, reading/card room, meeting room with full
kitchen and fireplace, bath facilities, laundry, complete recycling center
(!!!), swimming pool and FOUR spas. One spa is large for groups and they
also have three cozier hot tubs. The water is from their own natural hot
spring.

Again tonight, dark clouds gathered, but no rain (yet)

We have a lemon tree on our campsite - DT picked this one for our cocktails.
We went into town for dinner at one of the favorite local
hang-outs, Carlee's. Part bar, part family-dining, Carlee's turns out
burgers, steaks, fish, sandwiches and even pizza. The food was good, but
nothing out of the ordinary. Prices are pretty reasonable, considering we
are in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't look like much from the outside,
but it was very nice and clean and we had great service.

Fried Chicken special: the circled piece is a leg.
It was SO small, I thought it was part of a chicken wing!

We will re-think golfing again tomorrow. Or not. Until my
next update, I remain, your windy correspondent.
