On the road in our new motorhome

Merced, California: Finally. In March, we ordered a new motorhome from Country Coach in Junction City, Oregon. With all the financial problems plaguing the RV industry, through several work shut-downs and delays... finally, we took delivery of our new motorhome on 18 November. We spent several days at the factory fine-tuning a few things and physically moving everything from Our Intrigue into the Magna.

Then, we drove our new RV home (conveniently two hours north of the factory), and loaded and organized everything for a months-long inaugural land cruise - the Maiden Voyage of the Magna Peregrinus (The Great Wanderer). Our Journey begins!

Hello everyone!
Camping Journal & RV Goddess Command Center

Our first stop was back to Junction City to have a few more things tweaked and now we are on the road, to follow the sun and have many fun adventures along the way. First stop: Central California. We had a great week - eating too much - with DT's family and many friends over the Thanksgiving holiday. Even the Lovely Lisa (and our Grand Dawg, Reese) joined the family gathering!

Also, it was a great week to be a Duck! (I am referring to the University of Oregon species.) This week the Oregon Men's Cross Teams won the national championship and the women's team placed second. And for the cherry on top - the Ducks beat the Oregon State University Beavers in the 112th Civil War football game. GO DUCKS!

Our Thanksgiving turkey - prepared by my sister-in-law
Herbed Bird

I hope you all a similar-looking feast and enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays with people you love, people who are good cooks or people who will do the dishes.

Don't worry - our great log book ships daily - whether we are at home or on the road. Your favorite RVer would love a Camping Journal under the tree!

We will be hitting the road - south - tomorrow morning... assuming this terrible fog ever lifts:

Castle RV Park
Is it foggy enough?

RV Park: Castle Air Museum Family Camp. Just an ex-parking lot on the now-closed Castle Air Base between Merced and Atwater. Full hook-up, 50 amp sites. Close to nothing. Train noise and often odors waft over from a nearby dairy... sounds lovely, doesn't it? Well, it is the only place to stay while we visit our family. $20 per night. Price includes two admissions to the Air Museum.
