Timmy Tebow can move the Earth
Indio, California: Nothing much to see here
tonight. After our long day on the golf course yesterday, My Driver (who is
recovering from a nasty cold) needed a day of rest. A good day to finish up
our New Year letter and get it in the mail.
Computer geek that I claim to be - Microsoft Word shut-down every time I
tried to do a mail merge to print address labels. Rat farts. I finally
printed most of the envelopes, postage included, with my stamps.com
software. I emailed the newsletter file to Kinkos... hopped in the car and
the flyers were ready by the time I drove the mile to the store. Dang, I
love efficiency. (Did you hear me, Bill Gates?)
Okay, enough with office chores... let's talk football. What? Oh, that is
right. I hate football. I sure spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking
for a sport I don't even watch, don't I? Since tonight's alleged "National
Championship Game" was in Miami, I went with a Floridian theme... via Cuba.
Mojitos (which I forgot to make), ceviche (recipe coming soon) and Black
Bean Soup (again, soon). Everything was delicious and healthy.

I serve my ceviche with avocado

Black Bean Soup (with crème fraîche and cilantro)
We were DT was watching Tim Tebow kick some
Sooner butt, when all the sudden our motorhome started swaying in a shaking
sort of way. You don't spend three years in Manila without knowing what an
earthquake feels like - and it was a 5-point-something centered north of us
in San Bernardino. Lots of squeals heard through our open windows, but no
damage here in the RV park where every "house" sits on 6-to-8 rubber tires.
Our daughter, at dinner in Los Angeles, also felt the earthquake. That Timmy
is something, isn't he?
Since we were treated so well when we visited the Oklahoma campus in 2004
(where Oklahoma absolutely plucked our Ducks), I will always cheer for the
Sooners - but they sure didn't deserve to win tonight. Dang.
My rested driver and I have a big adventure planned for tomorrow, so check
back. Until my next update, I remain, your "college football is F I N
A L L Y over" correspondent.
