Rose Bowl
Indio, California: We had a very enjoyable
day. A good start to 2009. The weather was just spectacular and we spent
much of the day out of doors and took Reese on several good walks.
Our new RV is equipped with an outside television and entertainment center.
What better way to start the New Year than to watch the Rose Bowl outside in
the sunshine?

Someone in our family is really into college football

Even Reese enjoyed a few hours in the sun

I served another family tradition: black eyed peas. This
year I made Hoppin' John. It was an easy, delicious, low-fat way to start
the new year (after last night's artery-clogger). I only used two strips of
organic, fat-free, uncured/chemical-free, yadda yadda, turkey "bacon", but
it was enough to give the dish a ton of smoky flavor.
It was a great game. Every Pac-10 football team was victorious in their bowl
game, making the conference look strong. I wonder if Joe Pa will turn in his
clipboard and whistle now? I wonder if Mark Sanchez will stay at USC or turn
pro?
The tech Country Coach arranged for us will be here in the morning to fix
the few things not working on Our Magna. So, until that exciting update, I
remain, your rosy correspondent.
