On the Road Again...
Track Town USA: I don't know what you
think, but
I think it has been far too long since I have posted a photo of the
beautiful Magna Peregrinus.

Admit it. You missed her.
Don't forget, the Magna Peregrinus has a huge "O"
on her backside (for the University of Oregon) and she drew a lot of attention
screaming south on I-5 from Portland to Eugene this afternoon! So many fans honked and waved! (No,
they were not flipping-us-off - they were cheering for the Ducks!) Tomorrow
the Ducks play USC at Autzen Stadium. It is a sell-out and
ESPN GameDay is doing their show from Eugene. Everyone is very (very,
very, very) excited for the game tomorrow. (Evidently, some school in
Corvallis has a home game too, v UCLA.)

So we are "camped" at the
Premier RV
Resort just north of Eugene, Oregon. We have our usual full-service
campsite. On the roof of our bus you can see we have satellite television
(the front dish) and satellite internet (the rear dish). This campground has
cable television and free wifi... but we like to rely on our own systems.

The RV park is "conveniently" located next to I-5, but if
you look east, the view is quite bucolic. Rustic. Rural. Pretty even.

Speaking of pretty... our kitchen rarely looks this tidy. Tomorrow I am preparing
My Famous Mac & Cheese for thirty tailgaters. Imagine this kitchen at nine o'clock
tomorrow morning! Goodness. It's not going to be pretty.
But it will smell wonderful.

After we set up camp this evening, our RV tech showed-up and
proceeded to repair a few things on our bus. He knew the 2009 Country Coach
Magna's were having troubles with the dryer vent. Water is seeping in to
some units. Ours was still okay, but Our Tech bolstered the caulking so we
will not have this trouble down the road (pun intended). He also decided we
needed some sort of water filter (even though I demanded decent water
pressure) and set us up. This guy knows his stuff. Our Tech will return in
the morning to continue his/our checklist. (Don't forget, our coach is an
orphan. Country Coach went out of business just after we took delivery of
the Magna Peregrinus. Anything that goes wrong with our coach is on our
dime.)

Pizza Margherita from Ciao Pizza in Springfield, Oregon
Our friends arrived to Eugene and we all went out for pizza
at the wonderful Ciao Pizza.
(Yes, the adorable Satin Chantilly was our server.) A few USC Trojan fans
were in the restaurant and we bought them a round. Dang, if they didn't
one-up-us and send a round of desserts to our table. We hope this isn't some
sort of jinx. As the Trojans were leaving the restaurant, they thanked us
and went on and on about how friendly Duck fans were to them since they have
arrived in Eugene.
Hell, yeah!
We are ready for the Big Game. Until my next update, I
remain, your GO DUCKS correspondent.
