Oh, Dear... and... oh, deer
We are home! Yes, our little Coastal
Confession Tour has ended. Seriously, we camped last night only about 90
minutes from our house! We didn't want to come home... just wanted to
continue on in the RV through the Puget Sound and up into Canada... but we
came home. Why? Because we are going on a Big Trip next week and need to do
a few things at home before we leave again.
It's always something.
We arrived home to find our newly-stained deck a disaster. Our usual
painting crew had used a new product and learned they did not apply it
correctly to our expensive Port Orford Cedar! It is a shiny, sticky
disaster. The deck looks like it has been varnished. Oh, Dear!

Still not dry, even after five days
Tomorrow they will begin removing this product... then the
deck must dry before it can be stained - properly this time - again. Dang,
just when things were going so well. (Guess we will not be having that big
Deck Warming Party?)
I won't think about that today... I will think about that tomorrow...
TRIP WRAP-UP
8 nights
317 miles
3 campsites
One really good steak
One really bad pizza
And when we arrived home, we were happy to find a Welcoming
Committee in the field:

A Momma and a still-spotted (very late in the summer!) fawn

Hey, Lady... are you back? I want to show-off my baby... and help
clear some weeds.

Ahhhhhh... so cute!

Pretty baby

But a dog (acres away) started barking and the wee one moved to the dry
grass
where s/he was completely camouflaged...

and Momma decided the visit was over. They headed off into the forest.

Hey - watch out for the poison oak!
We hope you enjoyed our little trip... until my next update
(tomorrow), I remain, your "there's no place like home, except your
motorhome" correspondent.
