Sherman's Deli in Palm Desert

Indio, California:  We had a very busy day today. We started out by exercising and we both worked out too much. I am really paying the price for walking four miles and riding my bike three. Dave ran "many" miles, faster than usual, and then we had a race to the hot tub. Ahhhhh. Anyway, it was a sunny morning here at the ol' trailer park and I carried my trusty camera around on the first loop to snap photos of the palm trees, now firmly planted, and the new club house they are building on the east side of the development.

DT has been wanting to go to Sherman's Deli and Bakery, so today we drove up to Palm Desert for lunch. Sherman's Deli is a very popular and fairly famous restaurant in the Palm Springs area. It is called a "kosher-style" deli and I have no idea what that means as they offer bacon and ham, but anyway... they are famous for a very special pastrami sandwich that substitutes latkes for the bread. This tasty treat really hit the spot with me. The latkes were very delicious - crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Dave had a corned beef sandwich. Both sandwiches were so large, we had to eat them with a knife & fork. After lunch, Dave walked up and down every aisle at the new Bristol Farms Market - in the same parking lot as Sherman's Deli. He loved Bristol Farms too.

We have also been attending the nearly-daily RV show at our RV park. These motor coaches are total luxury models - mostly Prevost conversions - 45-feet of the finest accoutrements available today. The coaches retail from 1.5 to two million dollars. Today, Featherlite brought three models to show-off. They lured us all in with wine and cheese and let you open every drawer and cabinet and kick the tires. We didn't try their wine and we didn't buy a new motorhome... but it was so much fun to look.
