Tempe, Arizona

Tempe, Arizona: Yesterday we drove down to Tempe and spent the day resupplying for our next adventure! Today, was un-exciting. (Unless you were our taste buds.) We did continue our re-supply shopping and visited the Williams-Sonoma store in the big mall in Scottsdale... where, it just so happens, there is a P.F. Chang's China Bistro! For lunch DT had black-pepper calamari and we shared Kung Pao Chicken and fried noodles. Just perfect - we just love this chain and can't wait until they open a "branch" in Oregon. (NOTE ADDED LATER: Dang, there is one on every corner now - but the food is still delicious.)

After our delicious lunch we went to the Whole Foods for yet more supplies. Dinner found us at another chain restaurant, Gordon Biersch, where we never made it into the restaurant - we just had two appetizers in their bar and called it a night.

Tempe is really getting to be a nice spot. Since we have been coming here, about 12 years ago, they have really spiffed-up the area around campus, adding nice shops and restaurants. (Don't worry, this is a college town and there are still a lot of cheap beer halls and, of course, a Hooters.)
