Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, New York: We spent the entire day in Niagara Falls, Ontario! Honestly, the views of the falls are much better from the Canadian side. I realize now that most photos I had seen previously of Niagara Falls was taken from the Canadian side! The area on the rivers edge is just so lovely too - gardens and flowers everywhere. One block behind the gardens is every sort of tourist trap you would ever want to see, but if you don't want it - it's not in your face. Plus, we finally saw Honeymooners!

Clifton Hill
Clifton Hill - the "tourist" area

We walked for miles and miles and spent all day looking at the falls from every possible angle. I think DT must look like a professional photographer or something because you could not believe the number of people who ask him to take a snapshot, using their camera! (Sometimes we ask too. Would you believe a 16 yr. old boy took the photo of us on the Maid of the Mist the other day? The boat was tossing and turning so much, I will never understand how he managed.) We did a little shopping and added a real winner to our tacky bottle opener collection: a Niagara Falls combo nail-clipper/bottle opener! Wow, is it awful! We had a little lunch and then drove back to New York - having to wait in line for one hour to clear immigration. The US agent looked at the hitch-thing on the front of our Honda and asked where's the RV? But that seemed to be the only concern.
