Old Faithful

Yellowstone National Park - The weather was much improved today. Not exactly warm, but no snow. However, snow is predicted this evening - 2 to 3 inches - and tomorrow they are predicting 6 inches. We may not stick around... unless of course, we are actually stuck. Today we drove along the southern loop to some of our favorite places for spotting wildlife... but we did not see much today - a few elk... a few bison. We did see fabulous pots of boiling water and bubbling mud, an elk carcass and many fly fishermen.

And, we saw Old Faithful erupt twice!

Steve, Kris and the kids went for a hike later in the afternoon. DT and I came back to the campground with Mom and Dad for a relaxing afternoon. Tonight Steve is BBQing sausage, I have made two mac & cheeses (one is regular-Jean-style and the other is spicy with chilies, garlic, peppers and onions), Mom is contributing a huge salad and bread to this gourmet potluck. Looks like we won't starve tonight. Delaney is working very hard on her Junior Ranger badge, and today she bagged a whoopee-cushion in a Geo-Cache, so I don't suppose anyone will be able to sit down quietly tonight.
