Hike around Jenny Lake
Jackson, Wyoming - Where is this month
going??? We had such a fabulous day! I can't tell you how wonderful it was.
I would type more, but I am sleepy, so will just post photos and brief
explanations.

Today on our 8-mile hike we did see a little wildlife - a
marmot, several deer, snake, an Osprey, many chipmunks and lots of cool bugs
and butterflies. Everyone (but us) saw a huge bull moose on the trail...
guess he was having his 15-minute break when we walked past.

The hike around Jenny Lake is very easy, very flat and very
scenic. We highly recommend this easy hike. We came back to the camper and
went directly to the hot tub. Ahhhhh. There is nothing better after a long,
hot walk than a nice, long soak.

Snow King Mountain is the steepest-slope ski area in North America.
This is what it looks like without snow.

Tonight we went into town for Italian food at
Nani's. It didn't look
like much, but it turned out to be a remarkable meal. The menu was
fantastic! DT had sautéed Broccoli Rabe for an appetizer, while I sampled
grilled pecorino. Imagine - grilled pecorino. It was so fabulous. Who thinks
of this stuff? We shared a Caprese. DT had the special - clams with linguini
and I had chicken picatta. Never, ever, have I had chicken so tender. You
could have cut it with a fork. The wait staff felt it was too long of a wait
between courses, so kept bringing free Chianti. Our waiter was from DC and
moved here for the skiing. He told us that Sky King Mountain (pictured
above, right behind our campground, and basically downtown Jackson) doesn't
mind if you hike up to the top and ski down. His big thing is to hike up at
night and ski down at first light - spending the night on the mountain. I
asked him: Does your Mother know you do this? No way! Anyway, if you are in
Jackson, I can highly recommend Nani's.
