Bandon Dunes | Pacific Dunes

Bandon, Oregon - It was a beautiful day for golf - I am not saying all of the golfing was beautiful, but it has been agreed that you will never have a better day, or weather for golfing, at Bandon Dunes. It was windy, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The course was in magnificent shape. I video taped nearly every tee shot and most putts. DT hated it, but Matt is working on a new swing so was appreciative of the opportunity. (Of course, Matt has not had every moment of his life video taped and photographed for the past eight weeks.)

We enjoyed views of the ocean on many holes. Play was slow, so we had a lot of time. After this inspiring round of golf, the boys had the great idea to do it all again. Was there a tee time at Pacific Dunes in the morning? Yes. Was there still a room at the inn for Matt? Yes. So, tomorrow they will play Pacific Dunes. Sans video camera.

This evening, Matt picked us up and we took a drive through "old town" Bandon and then out to Face Rock. We found a restaurant over-looking the sea - Lord Bennett's. Lord Bennett's displayed a poster in the lobby advertising an entertainer with the amazing name of BeBe "Big Hair" Bardot. Sorry we were missing her, as she "insults tourists". I had the halibut special - it was lovely. DT had blackened ahi tuna special, which he said was cold. Matt had scallops and he thought they were only "okay".  I also enjoyed their salad - it was your basic restaurant salad, but included dried cranberries and sunflower seeds - a yummy touch.
