Harry & David | Bullard's Beach State Park

Bandon, Oregon - The morning dawned late for this girl, but DT was up early and had everything ready to go before I got out of bed. Our northerly route still found us on the dreaded I-5. My folks called from Kamloops, British Columbia. They had been incommunicado for DAYS - a good fishing lake was no-doubt involved. Dad said they would not be in Bend until Tuesday, so we decided, at the last possible moment, to head over to the coast! A few phone calls and we had tee times at Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes, and Matt was driving down to join us. Gotta love this digital age.

Just inside Oregon, DT was feeling a bit peckish. A free lunch can always be had at the huge Harry & David store in Medford - just from grazing on their samples! We always stop at Harry & David when we pass through Medford - we love their fruits and veggies and their wonderful assortment of snacks. I am particularly fond of their "Original Moose Munch" - caramel corn with almonds and cashews, with a few bits of the popcorn dipped in dark chocolate. Heaven in a cello bag!  We found beautiful apricots and cherries today - plus a nice assortment of our favorite candies and snacks. As we were leaving the parking lot across the street from the store, DT went up on a curb. No worries, it isn't the first time he has brought the back tire over a curb. But this time was the worst ever! For the first time, the dishes went flying - glasses were knocked over, food in the fridge was on its side - just a mess. We have no idea why this time everything decided to become airborne, but luckily nothing was broken and we were able to continue up I-5 without needing a broom or mop.

We pulled into one of our favorite campgrounds - Bullards Beach, just outside of Bandon, Oregon (Howard: I-5 to 42 to 101) and were lucky enough to secure a full-service campsite - with a direct shot to the southeastern sky for the satellite. Life is good! When I stepped out of the motorhome to book the site, it was CHILLY. This was quite shocking to me... but we are back in Oregon! DT went for a run - and while he was out, we even had a little sprinkle! WELCOME HOME!

I made two small pizzas for dinner - Pesto & Artichoke, and Pizza Margherita. They were both devoured, so I guess they were good. Tomorrow we will play Pacific Dunes.
