Sunset Ceremony

The view from Room 212 Friday morning
This morning's
vista is the beautiful Celebrity Century - a classy ship and a
classy cruise line. We had a leisurely breakfast on the terrace of our room,
and then decided to not take the launch to Sunset Island - a small cay just
off shore owned by Hilton Resorts. We were going to go over to lie by the
pool - but decided to spend the morning at the pool here instead. Big
decision - which pool to lie around. It is near 80 degrees today, no wind,
no clouds - just a beautiful day in the Florida Keys.
Later in the afternoon, we walked down Duval Street for a "light" lunch -
the restaurants serve just huge portions - so we will once again have a late
dinner. We bought a few last-minute souvenirs and retired back to our
balcony to watch the activity on the dock.
Every moment since the
Changing Channels arrived in port, a 6-person crew have been scrubbing,
swabbing, polishing, waxing and hosing-off every surface. Today huge fresh
flower bouquets were delivered and this afternoon a small group is enjoying
cocktails on the deck. New owners? Someone who has hired the yacht for a
private island trip? Also, the Grins (blue boat, below) is in port - there
is a big sail race here next week and many beautiful sailing ships are
arriving for the event.

The evening view from Room 212
For the first time, Lisa joined us for the Sunset
Celebration. (I actually saw her laughing at the Siegfried & Roy house-cat
guy!) The sunset tonight was not as spectacular as usual... a cloudbank
covered the actual sunset, but I did snap two pretty photos... one is of the
"artsy" variety for your enjoyment.

Sunset Friday

Lisa and Dave enjoy the show

Sunset Friday - hubby & your correspondent
Yes, folks - I am on this trip too! Lisa took a photo of
us at the Sunset Celebration. I occasionally get on the other side
of the camera. The cay off my shoulder is Sunset Island. About 9:00p we
went back to Origami for sushi... well, Dave and Lisa went for sushi and I
went for the avocado salad... only to find-out they were OUT of avocados. I
had to drink beer for dinner - the sacrifices I make for my family's sushi
obsession! Tomorrow, we will drive back to Fort Ldle.
