We have arrived

Hello from Sacramento. We had a very uneventful drive down I-5. We left Monday morning, about 11 a.m. Kelsey is staying at the Manor, taking care of Snickers, Kitty Dukakis, Madonna and Joe Paterno. Kelsey reports Snickers was quite upset watching the three of us drive away in Goldie yesterday!

We stopped in Medford at the Harry & David shop and purchased various junk-food and health-food snacks. We spent the night in Mt. Shasta City. I baked a loaf of French bread and made pasta with Mizithra cheese and a Greek salad. Quite delicious. After dinner, Lisa and sat down and enjoyed today’s re-broadcast of All My Children on the satellite. (Life is good.)

We left the campground around 10a this morning and took it easy to Sacramento. The engine is running hot, so we drove a little slower than usual. We are at the Cal Expo RV Park (at the State Fairgrounds). It is a nice park(ing lot), with full hook-ups, but the park is on a slope, so we have the hydraulic jacks cranked up quite a bit to level the coach. Good cellular, antenna and satellite service though, plus 50 amp power, so we can run both air conditioners and the washer/dryer at once. We drove out to Steve & Gina’s for dinner. We had cocktails and appetizers by the pool. Gina raided her garden and made a wonderful pesto sauce for a pasta salad. She included zucchini and tomatoes from her garden – added olives and feta – and it was a perfect meal, with foccacia bread and melon. Gina also made a banana crème pie and served a special cheese cake!

I told you life is good.
