Steve Johnson Blues

Merced, California: I am up early this morning, while DT is still sleeping-off his big day of golf and big night of Blues & Brews. We have had a great visit in Merced, but will head for San Francisco this afternoon. Many friends and family have gathered in Merced this week for the Blues & Brews and everyone got together Thursday night at the family home. There were kids (ages 3-17) everywhere and Snickers really enjoyed himself. Ginger's sister, Lana, had flown in with her family from Atlanta. Of course, there was a great abundance of delicious foods.

On Friday morning, Steve drove down from Sacramento and stopped by the luxurious Castle Air Museum RV Park to get DT - they were both entered in the Annual Jim Acker Memorial Golf Tournament at the Merced Country Club. So, I had the day to myself - and the BC2 at my disposal!

But guess what I have been doing for the past two days? Shopping for furniture in Washington, DC! Yes, yes, yes... we all know I am a modern girl living in a modern world... but even this modern girl needs a little help sometimes. I sat in front of Mom's computer and looked on-line at what Lisa was considering to purchase and we made the decisions together! With the help of the Internet, cellular phones and Daddy's Visa card - Lisa now has a furnished apartment. She may spend the first few weeks of summer session in an apartment with only a mattress, but everything will be delivered before she comes home on July 6th. It was fun.

We now own an eggplant-colored sofa.

I went out to the Golf Club for the after-golf banquet. Steak. I sat with 'the team'. The Team shot a 65 in the scramble, and was shutout from all prizes! So we thought we would buy raffle tickets, hoping to win a few nifty things. Nope, skunked again.

After dinner we all headed back to town for the Blues and Brews - a sold out show and the Art Center was hoppin'! This is the Annual "We're Getting the Band Back Together" Tour for The BobTones. Steve Johnson flies in from New York, where he plays regularly at Tribeca Blues and Downtime. We danced and enjoyed the music until well past midnight. Everyone thinks The BobTones should get back together more often!
