Seven Feathers Casino RV Park

Canyonville, Oregon: Not a very exciting day, as we are really heading home now. Duty calls! We must exercise our franchise and I miss Snickers terribly. We drove nearly 400 miles today, straight north on I-5, stopping only once - for about 30 minutes for lunch and a stretch.  We had a great view of Mt. Shasta from our lunch spot:

At about 4:30, we just happened to be at the Seven Feathers Casino (and RV Park) in Canyonville, Oregon - and they just happened to have an open campsite and it just happened to be time to catch the end of the Duck game! No radio reception in Canyonville, but we could get the score updates running across the bottom of the TV screen with our satellite dish. The game was not on live television, but would be replayed at 7:30 p.m. We saw the final score - DUCKS WIN - again in overtime... so we had time to visit the casino! We have been here once before, but it is a very smoky casino and I can't stand it for long. We returned to Goldie, where I prepared a huge salad and we crunched away watching the Ducks beat WSU on the replay. It was snowing in the Palouse. It was cold in Canyonville too - we used the furnace for the first time in weeks.

Added later: Four hours and we are home. A great trip. The highlights were visiting with family, Bandon Dunes, the Duck victory at ASU, star gazing in Death Valley and the beautiful drive on the Apache Trail. We spent 24 nights in Goldie (out of a 116-night total since February), drove 3,360 miles, stayed in 11 campgrounds (paying from $12 to $36 per night). We played 8 golf courses, none of them particularly well. Ranging from the beautiful Bandon Dunes to the Cocopah muni-course where there were more roofs in play than usual.
