Halloween on the Road
Sacramento, California: Happy
Halloween! We hope you had a lot of treats and no tricks. Our day was another
boring drive south on I-5. We stopped for the night at
Cal-Expo RV Park,
set up camp and headed directly east in the Jeep to Roseville. Dave wanted to do
a little shopping (that is a sentence you will very very very very rarely read
on this website) and we had plans to meet family for dinner.
The shopping mall in Roseville (very fancy) was filled with kids trick or
treating with their parents in tow. Every store had a costumed employee handing
out goodies to kids. We saw so many fun costumes and were really missing Leo and
Lucy. Lisa sent a few cute photos of our adorable grandchildren as they headed
out to school for parties and parades. Today, Leo was a hyena. Lucy was a
butterfly fairy. Obviously.

We can't wait to see Leo and Lucy again. Soon!

My costume? Wicked Witch of the RV World? Nah, I just wore
the wonderful Halloween scarf I received for my birthday in 2002. Every
year, I give it a little exercise. Selfie!
After Dave's shopping spree - one pair of jeans - we met Brother
Steve, Gina, Meghan and Jamie for dinner at
Zocalo in
Roseville. We had such wonderful Mexican meals here in June, we were happy to
eat here again. I even ordered the exact same meal - Chicken Mole with their
famous cilantro rice.

Yes, that is a pitcher of margaritas. Don't judge.
Gina and Steve brought us a haul o'veggies and fruits from their massive garden
and orchard.

Salad greens, poblano chiles, roma tomatoes, lemons and Key
limes. Nice! Thank you very much.
Until my next update, I remain, your treated correspondent.
RV Park:
Cal-Expo RV Park
- Cal-Expo is on the California State Fairgrounds and is constantly busy due
to the various events scheduled at the fairgrounds. Always make a
reservation! Campers have two choices - paved campsites in a tilted parking
lot or flat campsites in a gravel lot. Big Rigs should always choose the
gravel lot. (Our airbags can never get us level in the paved area.) 30/50
amp full-service, pull-through and back-in sites. Friendly staff. Laundry
and bathhouse. No pool. No spa. On the American River with miles of
bike/walking paths. Shops (a huge mall - NORDSTROM!), restaurants and great
grocers very close. We paid $40 for the night.
