Uneventful

Red Bluff, California:  There is nothing to report - a very good thing. We left Eugene around 10a (a little late due to a conference call appointment for My Driver) and pointed the Magna Peregrinus south on Interstate-5. The weather cooperated. Except for two mildly windy spots, our conveyance was smooth. We only took two breaks the entire day - one at a little view point just south of the Oregon-California border.

Mt. Shasta

A beautiful view of Mt. Shasta and nothing from our fridge was confiscated by the California Agricultural inspectors.

It often happens that our motorhome attracts comments and questions from fellow travelers at rest stops. Imagine the looks when I tell them our motorhome is eight years old. Still looks shiny and new!

We covered around 340 miles today, well over our usual 250-mile comfort zone. Dave's goal today was to get as far south as possible, while still stopping in time to hook-up to life-support systems and get the satellite dish pointed to receive the 7th game of the World Series.  Neither of us are dedicated to either team, but Dave's college roommate, Red, is a devoted Cub fan. We were cheering for Chicago.

Thank goodness Red isn't from Cleveland.

A few weeks ago, I prepared the sauce for my Turkey Lasagna. We had some of the sauce over pasta one night and I froze the rest for our traditional "first night on the road" (Eugene does not count!) lasagna. Before going to bed last night, I quickly put the lasagna together and it waited all day in the fridge before I baked the casserole this evening.

Turkey Lasagna

Isn't it interesting how "no-bake" lasagna noodles fit so conveniently into a loaf pan?

Lasagna

This recipe is very easy, loaded with veggies and the only cheese is just a bit on the top. Make it soon!

Though I didn't think the 7th game would ever end, our friends in Chicago had to stay up until one o'clock in the morning to see their team FINALLY win the World Series again.

Tomorrow, we continue south.

Until my next update, I remain, your California correspondent.

RV Park: Durango RV Resort. A very nice spot, right on the interstate, but loaded with everything you could want. Great club house, hot tub, fitness center, pool (in season), small shop. Laundry, wifi, bath house. Long pull-throughs and back-ins. We paid $41 with a Good Sam discount.
